Losing access usually means you no longer have the phone number or the device linked to the account. Recovery starts inside the official app.
First steps
Try to log in with the same phone number on a new or existing device. WhatsApp will send a verification code by SMS or voice call.
If the number is no longer active, you cannot receive the code. In that case the account cannot be recovered through the normal process.
Use only the official WhatsApp app. Third-party tools that claim to recover accounts are not supported.
After you regain access
Restore from your latest backup if one exists. Then review your privacy settings and two-step verification.
